
"to advance knowledge in the Science of Photogrammetry; to act as clearing house for the distribution of information pertaining to Science; to exert its influence toward the betterment of standards and ethics; to foster a spirit of cooperation and understanding; to provide a means for friendly exchange of ideas and intercourse among those interested in the art; to hold meetings for the presentation and discussion of papers; to procure, preserve, and disseminate knowledge and information and in furtherance thereof; to publish, and distribute or promote the publication and the distribution of books, periodicals, treatises, circulars, and other papers relating to said subjects, and objects of this society; to dispose of said publications by sale, or otherwise and in general to do and perform every lawful act and thing necessary and expedient to be done and performed in furtherance of the objects and lawful purposes of said Society," and "provided, that the entire income of the Society shall be used in furtherance of its objects and no part of such income shall inure to the benefit of any individual or individuals". The Chapter as a body shall take no action and make no recommendations which shall (or appear to be) detrimental to any class or group of its members, or which is not in accordance with the purposes and aims of the National Society, the Potomac Region and the North Carolina Chapter.
This Chapter of the Society shall be known as the North Carolina Chapter of the Potomac Region of the American Society of Photogrammetry. The Chapter Headquarters shall be at the offices of the current Chapter President. The Chapter area shall be composed of the State of North Carolina.
Section II - Government
A. The government of the North Carolina Chapter shall be vested in its officers and Board of Directors.
B. The officers shall consist of a President, an Executive Vice-President, a Vice-President for Programs, and a Secretary-Treasurer. All are to be elected by the members at large from a slate of nominees as provided in the By-Laws.
C. The Board of Direction shall consist of the Officers, the three (3) Directors, and the Immediate Past President. The Directors shall be elected by the members and the term of office shall be three(3) years provided that the term of office of one Director shall expire each year.
D. The term of office for Officers and Directors shall commence upon installation at the January meeting of the North Carolina Chapter and cease when their successors have been duly installed.
E. The By-Laws shall provide for succession in office in case of vacancy, and for the filling of vacancies in the Board of Direction.
A. Each member of the American Society of Photogrammetry in good standing and residing in the area of the North Carolina Chapter of the Potomac Region shall be considered a member of this Chapter and shall be entitled to all privileges provided, except that only dues paid Chapter members have the right to vote and hold office.
B. With the approval of the Board of Direction of the American Society of Photogrammetry, the Potomac Region and the North Carolina Chapter, andy Society member living outside this area shall upon application, also be eligible for membership in the North Carolina Chapter with the approval of the Region in which he resides.
C. Failure to pay assessed national dues shall not preclude admission of any member to technical sessions of this Chapter.
Section II - Meetings
A. An annual meeting of the members shall be held during the month of January for the installation of Officers and Directors of the Chapters.
B. At least two technical meetings shall be held each year for the furtherance of the "Objectives" in this Constitution.
C. Ten (10) corporate members shall constitute a quorum for conducting the business of the meeting.
B. Letter ballots and a copy of the proposed amendment shall be sent to the membership thirty (3) days prior to the date of the close of balloting.
C. This Constitution may be amended by the affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of all ballots cast by the members of the Chapter.
